Obama, Elon Musk, Apple, and high-profile Twitter accounts hacked in crypto scam

Apple, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Elon Musk, and other number of high-profile are facing an unusual Twitter attack.

Major companies and some individual Twitter accounts are hacked.

This attack intends to promote a bitcoin scam that seems to be gaining its creator quite a bit of money.

Elon Musk, Apple, Uber, Joe Biden, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Wiz Khalifa, YouTuber MrBeast, Kim Kardashian West, Wendy’s, CashApp are among those Twitter accounts that has been hacked.

Those accounts tweeted to promoting a bitcoin scam. Those hacked accounts posted that whosoever made any payments to the given bitcoin wallet address will be doubled and will send back to you.

It is a well-known technique for a cryptocurrency scam.

Before some high-profile Twitter accounts that have millions of followers has been hacked. Some cryptocurrency-focused accounts like  @bitcoin, @coindesk, @ripple,  @coinbase, and @binance  initially targeted and posted the same message.

Twitter noticed the circumstance and posted it after an hour of quietness. The post was, “We are aware of a security incident impacting accounts on Twitter. We are investigating and taking steps to fix it. We will update everyone shortly.”

Hackers shared a Cryptocurrency wallet address on twitter by hacking the account of Elon Musk, Apple, Uber, Joe Biden, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Wiz Khalifa, YouTuber MrBeast, Kim Kardashian West, Wendy’s, CashApp and high-profile accounts.

Blockchain disclosed that the hackers collected approx 373 transactions, and received 12.86252562 Bitcoins. It is equivalent to $118,300 (roughly Rs. 89 lakhs).

Who Was Behind The Twitter Attack?

According to the security source, cryptoforhealth.com  is a web address that initiates this Twitter attack.

There are some users found on cryptoforhealth.com web address who registered using the email address mkworth5@gmail.com.
